AVOIDING PLAGIARISM




1.TYPES OF PLAGIARISM


  • Copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit
  • Failing to put quotation mark on quotation words
  • Changing words but the copying the sentence structure without giving credit
  • Make someone else as your own work
  • Giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation
  • Copying so many works and ideas that it makes the majority of your work whether you give credit or not





2.PREVENTING PLAGIARISM



↪ KNOW HOW TO PARAPHRASE

You should change both the words and the sentence structure of the original.



↪ INCLUDE A REFERENCE PAGE



You must include a reference page or page of works at the end of your work to prevent plagiarism.If you do not know how to do it,you can ask for a help from your lecturer or search in the internet.



↪ CITE RESOURCES


You must use quotation mark if the words is short or the line is less than 3 lines and quote the words exactly the way it appears.

↪ MAKE IT CLEAR WHO SAID THAT

You must give your 100% concentration when you are having a group of discussion because you have to make sure who is the one giving the ideas.Do not mistook it with other people as you have to give them the credit.

↪ CONSULT YOUR LECTURER

If you have any question,you may ask your lecturer.

↪ PLAN YOUR PAPER & TAKE EFFECTIVE NOTES

You must form a plan first before you start doing your assignment/work.Make a note to differentiate between your ideas and other ideas so you do not get confuse or copying other people ideas too much.You can use colored pen or highlight in your notes to make it easier for you.

CALCULATING GRADE POINT AVERAGE
Grade Point Average (GPA) represent student's result based on their courses for every semester.The formula used to calculate GPA:




1. Multiply each numeric grade value by the number of credits the course was worth.

 2. Add these numbers together.

 3. Divide by the total number of credits you took. 

4. Your GPA = 3.53

While,Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) refers to overall GPA,which is including all of the dividing the number of quality points earned in all courses attempted by the total credit hours in all attempted courses.







FAILURE AND DISMISSAL

Student who do not represent well in their academic will be given a warning or worst,they can get dismissed from their study.The status of Dismissed (D) that can be given to students include:
